This retreat is created by a psychologist for other psychologists and therapists who feel the need to pause—to step back from daily demands, rest, and gain perspective, while exploring subtle but meaningful shifts in how they approach both their work and everyday life.
Through the ancient wisdom of mindfulness, connection with nature and self-care, we will explore practical ways to manage stress, staying grounded and recharging our energy as we move through our days instead of collapsing at the end of the day or week or quietly counting down to the next holiday.
Learning to trust your own body and inner voice in creating a more sustainable way of working and living that feels aligned.
The retreat offers a gentle balance of structure and spaciousness, with guided mindfulness practices, therapist-focused reflections, and practical tools that you can carry into your daily life.
The focus is not on adding more to an already busy schedule, but on identifying simple, effective ways to care for yourself and maintain steadiness—both in your work and beyond.
There is plenty of time for rest, integration, and personal space throughout.
In addition to the mindfulness workshops and guided practices, your days may include nature and beach walks, journalling, massage therapy, meditation and gentle movement alongside deeply nourishing and delicious food and luxurious accommodation.
Each participant will have a spacious private room with a queen or king bed, offering comfort, privacy, and space to fully unwind and reconnect with themselves.

Cecilie O’Toole is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience working across Norway and Australia and holds full registration in both countries.
Alongside her clinical work, she has trained in, practised, and taught mindfulness, with a focus on how it can be integrated into everyday life to support presence, steadiness, and resilience.
She has been practising mindfulness meditation since 2009. She has completed Teacher Trainings through Mindful Academy International, Albir, Spain (2017-2018), Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, School of Psychology, Bangor University, UK (2012), and Scandinavian Centre for Awareness Training, Norway (2010), as well as attending retreats and workshops with Jon Kabat-Zinn (Founder of MBSR, author of Full Catastrophe Living and numerous other books on Mindfulness), Dr Mark Williams (co-founder of MBCT ) among others.
Her work is informed not only by her professional background, but also by lived experience of burnout, stress, chronic health challenges, and the realities of balancing a demanding clinical career with raising three children.
These experiences have shaped a deep understanding of the importance of, and what it takes to sustain wellbeing in the context of real life, rather than as an abstract ideal.
Cecilie's work is grounded in a strong intention to support other therapists in the important and often demanding work that they do, and to create space for reflection on how they can take better care of themselves—so they are able to live more grounded, sustainable, and fulfilling lives, both personally and professionally.
She is currently developing mindfulness-based retreats and online programs specifically for therapists, designed to support sustainable practice and wellbeing both within and beyond clinical work.
While this is not a formal training or accredited CPD program, the retreat is designed in alignment with Psychology Board of Australia CPD principles, which emphasise reflective practice, professional competence, and ongoing development.
This retreat may be relevant for CPD purposes as reflective professional development, particularly in relation to:
reflective and reflexive practice and self-awareness
emotional awareness and regulation in clinical work
professional sustainability and burnout prevention
evidence-informed use of mindfulness in clinical practice
monitoring and managing self-care to sustain professional functioning and wellbeing.
The program is informed by contemporary research on mindfulness, stress, and mental health.
Participants may choose to self-record this experience as CPD in line with their professional judgement and board requirements.
It is particularly relevant to competencies 1, 2 and 3 in the new Code of Conduct for Psychologists.
Price includes 3 nights accommodation, all meals and snacks, coffee, tea, mindfulness and self-care workshop program specifically tailored for therapists.
